About the show
Tuesday, August 11 Sloppy Jane w/ Cherub Tree Sloppy Jane is the creative and artist project of Haley Dahl. 2021 saw the release of the critically acclaimed chamber pop/rock album Madison on Saddest Factory Records. The album and accompanying visual album were recorded entirely in a cave in West Virginia, and the music features stunning orchestral arrangements by Dahl. Dahl currently performs with an up-to 10-piece band and puts on a singularly captivating and frenetic live show. The band has shared stages with boygenius, Iceage, Pussy Riot: Riot Days, Deap Vally, CSS, Bartees Strange, Phoebe Bridgers, and more. Last year an original song by Sloppy Jane ft. Phoebe Bridgers was featured on the soundtrack for the A24 film I Saw The TV Glow, directed by Jane Schoenbrun and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Dahl is currently composing a feature film score and working on writing the next Sloppy Jane album. \*\*\* Fronted by Brenna Dascoulias and guitarist Ryan Shakeri with support from drummer Sam Elliott and bassist Izzy Burke, Cherub Tree are a bubblegrunge band that specializes in music that has both a soft indie rock sound and a harder punk edge. Learning to balance the two genres took years of dedication, but they’ve managed to pull it off. “Bubblegrunge is a fitting term for our versatility,” Shakeri says. “We’re able to combine alternative and punk music while making it feel cohesive.”
