There are two bands that share the name Nektar: 1. Nektar is a German rock band formed in Hamburg in 1969 by Allan Freeman (keyboards and vocals), Roye Albrighton (guitars and vocals), Derek More (bass, Mellotron, and vocals), and Ron Howden (drums). The band’s early albums drew on hard rock and space-rock influences, including the styles of Pink Floyd. During the 1970s, Nektar released several concept albums, including "A Tab in the Ocean" (1972)
